Description
The outdoor pool Meinerzhagen is located within view of the A45 Autobahn and had to struggle with the consequences. The abrasion of the tires sat down every year on the slide the pool wall.
In a previous step, the water treatment had been converted to Vacuum Precoat Filtration. The dimensioning of the circulating flow done for cost reasons and because of the good filling water quality on 50% compared to DIN 19643. This places special demands on the hydraulics of the pool. The pool in the old state had a deep overflow channel and below the floor level slopped walls. Unfortunately, the old overflow reservoir had been dimensioned a bit too small – or the overflow channel and the gradient tubes too large. Therefore, this system had to be changed with a smaller channel and replaced with pipelines in the right slope.
To make matters to, that the ground was so flexible, that the old pool vertically by up to 15 mm between the empty and the filled state moved.
Measures and special features
The first unusual step was the 3D measurement of the old pool with an extremely precise laser device. With these data, the maximum size of the pool was determined, to work on the old walls only minimally.
The hydraulic system was installed on the ground, because the volume flow for horizontal flow of the pool width of 25 Meters would not be enough. As the water level should be higher in future space for pipelines was created. The bottom of the pool was in 2 areas divided and supplied separately, to keep small also by the dimension of the horizontal tubes.
It was expected, that the long walls would bend again after renovation. Therefore, this process was monitored and the new pool built with a 5-millimeter-hump.
The manufacturer of the pool had previously probably underestimates the forces on the pool walls and overestimated the stability of foams. The result was not only the bending of the elements but also cracks in the sealing connections. Therefore, each element was probably the first time in company history behind filled with lightweight concrete.
Also for the first time in the company's history was for information of the company-owner, Mr. Giorgio Colletto, were using the redevelopment system “RenovAction” or with standard design clad sloping pool walls.
Construction process
The Italian company A&T Europe Spa had received with my help the contract for the renovation of the pool. From A&T Europe Spa was a local company Dittmann Bau GmbH instructed. Below is the procedure:
- Demolition of the old foil,
- Exposing the pool head,
- Cutting the pool head,
- Filling the pool floor,
- Installing the pipes,
- Dress up the pool walls in the system “Myrthapools”,
- Behind filling the walls,
- fill concrete in the pool floor and straighten,
- weld pool floor,
- Fill environment and pave.
