2015 and 2016 Measurement and control of ozone in bottled water

Just prior to packaging, the water is mixed with traces of ozone.

Description

The well water is conveyed and processed via closed sand filter. This water, the bottling plant is supplied. In ca. 20 Meters is an ozone generator from I-Born. The generator itself is a development of I-Born. The ozone is produced in the generator, admixed with an injector a small partial flow of the water. The partial volume flow is mixed with the main flow just before the bottling plant. After mixing, a measurement is carried out, which is to provide a controller.

Measurement

My first visit to Bangkok was exclusively for the Measurement. The customer gave the information, that the display of the transmitter on 0,01 ppm should show exactly. The transmitter has been electronically adapted to this desire and I should train employees in the use of sensors and the transmitter.

At this point the ozone plant was still in a programming- and test phase. Therefore, it was not known, with which desired values ​​the system should operate. The hint, that you can adjust the concentration of ozone very hard over a two-point control, was not taken seriously by the Thai programmers. Nevertheless, he gave the software in the Siemens S7 controller a PID controller module. This block proved 1 Year later than helpful.

The reason for the second visit in November 2016 were the problems of stabilizing the ozone concentration and the calibration of the sensor. They had tried, a sensor having 0 ... 2.0 mg / l to operate at a nominal value 0.05 mg / l and calibrate in this area. Even the reference measurement for this value has not been possible, since the user's individual errors are higher. See Tutorial Calibration.

The generator finally the PID block was used. I advised to, the volume flows with two flow measurements at a fixed ratio 1/9 and adjust and regulate the partial flow to a desired value 0.5mg / l. Whether this advice was implemented, I can not say it. But the plant filled since that time Water Bottles.
