Description
The district town Reichenbach im Vogtland is a German low mountain range on the southern edge of Saxony. The existing pool was decades old, so that a new building was planned at the same location. In the original planning was several pools of stainless steel, However, the price and possibly my expertise was able to convince the representatives of the city and the architect of the system of my Italian client. To ensure that all services contract could be offered, various new developments and motivation of internal staff were required.
The city's location and the local weather conditions complicate the construction of the lido in the season break. Nevertheless, the construction period of the fall was distributed to spring.
Pool hydraulic
From the history of planning the demand was, equip all pools with floor nozzle. The demand for a flat base for the basin have led to a further competitive advantage. Was the competitor with stainless steel basin only able, use so-called inflow channels with their own foundations and comparatively large height, the Italian system could score a line tubing. Of course, was not communicated in the offer, that the special nozzles were yet to be developed.
For the mentality in an Italian company, it is extremely difficult, to consider customer interests spontaneously. Ultimately, the new jet were, which can be adapted to the existing pressure, successfully installed. Before handing over the pool to the new owner was detected with a staining test, that all pools in 5 to 9 minutes let colorize and discolor complete. The future swimmers would be so surrounded within a short time from the necessary disinfectant.
Construction process
This was my first project, I had to work from the side of the contractor. Before, I was always working on the side of the architect. Complicating this task is an Italian supplier. As I had to learn later, Italian companies take terms such as "delivery date". "Construction" or "completion" as seriously, as does a Roman with a red light. It is advisable, ready to keep the paragraph with the contract penalties the building contract at any time as motivation.
Fortunately, extensive advance payments were to be provided by the concrete construction. In combination with the performance of the system installer, has transferred the tubes under and around the basin, an adjustment of interests without controversy and threats of punishment was possible.

Other features
The jump-basin was designed as a partial lining a concrete body. All other pools were conventionally installed on strip foundations.
Another special construction was the slip safety outlet. He was integrated into the basin wall. Again, the Italian designers could not imagine, how it works. I could at (happy) the company convince the end of my design, although some details were simply left to the imagination of engineers.
September is not necessarily the right time, to begin construction of outdoor pools in the mountains. But because first a bored pile foundation took place, then the main building was built and then the lowering of the floor had to be awaited, no better time frame for the pools was possible.
Pool after pool, a tent was erected and built the pool in this tent. This was a logistical challenge, which was mastered together with the other companies.
