1994 … 1995 Leisure- and adventure-pools "Sumpfmühle" (Swamp mill) Hetzdorf

The beginning of my work in the industry of engineering offices was also the beginning of the hot construction time in Hetzdorf. Design for the pools, and the water treatment plant was completed. I had the task, to realize this object. The first project was of course a challenge. As a beginner, like the leap into the shark pool. The filmed here employee was also 1995 already in the object.

Description

The leisure and adventure pool "Sumpfmühle" Hetzdorf was built on the site of a dammed mill pond. Before the upper part of the lake was dammed. This part was used as a drinking water reservoir and the stream fed into a tube passing the object. So the pools are on a swampy basement. Originally, a part of the object should become reconsidered later and can be used throughout the year. From this design out the divided form of water areas due. The directly adjoining hotel "Sumpfmühle" and the object itself live in symbiosis.

Pools

The pools have been built in stainless steel by the Saxon company ESM. The pools have been built in all water depths as a self-supporting structure. The walls are supported on the strip foundations. A particular challenge was to, not allowed to change the position of structur during the compaction work. Otherwise, the overflow channel would run into trouble and the pool hydraulics would have disturbed. The inflow of water takes place above ground channels with accommodated nozzles.

Water treatment plant

From the planned division of the water areas also result a special division of the water circuits, each part of watertreatment is double-scaled. There are traditional closed rapid filters used. The system is fully automatic and operates with electrically driven flaps. The pumps are under the entrance- and supervisory building installed in the basement. The plant was built by Water Technology Plauen GmbH.
