Description

Hugo Kükelhaus was a German carpenter, Artist and Educator. Hugo Kükelhaus was best known for his development of a field of experience for the opening of the senses. In publications and lectures he has throughout his life spread his idea of a "humane contemporary" living environment. Hugo Kükelhaus lived by 24.03.1900 to 05.10.1984.

The Kükelhaus School in Magdeburg, the building was 2011 expanded. For the children and young people a pool was designed with height-adjustable floor. As a base, a concrete construction should serve, which should be lined in the system "Myrthapools".

Particularities

The special challenge was the observance of the gap dimensions to DIN EN 13451. According to this standard are gaps between 8mm and 25mm dangerous and forbidden. These tolerances had to be, of course, already been realized with the concrete. Finally, the movable floor in its entire path should not be obstructed.

Development of special parts for the pool wall

Therefore, a special design of the ights and wall jets and wall suctions was necessary. The surface of these parts had to be located with the wall in an identical plane. The conventional parts of the wall have been characterized by a plurality of bolts at the periphery and a plurality of seals. At higher water temperatures, these components tend to slow deformation, whose cause is to be found in the flow behavior of plastics. An example of this deformation during a renovation of another project after 5 years of operation with high water temperatures:

One can imagine, that the gasket in the flange had no chance. Then, when a leak has arisen, tries to turn the service personnel in the first step fixed the screws. In this process, and if the screw sleeves are too short, tearing the material and forms a leaky crack. To see here:

Out of this need I have already designed for other projects a conical system, which:

  1. on the entire circumference applies a uniform force to the seal,
  2. is screwed from the outer side of the pelvis on the entire periphery,
  3. and whose position can be set in the wall on the construction site and realizes.

Special hydraulic aggregates and tools have been developed for this realization, which could punch the holes and deep-draw the conical. Initially, the concrete walls looked like a proverbial "Swiss cheese", in the end you could see was the large number of special white parts.

The special hydraulic movable floor

Also, the movable floor also has some special features. The movable floor uses a hydraulic drive. The position measurement is integrated in each hydraulic cylinder and aligns the floor very precisely for the user. This is important, so that the equilibrium sense of the user is not disturbed.
